Werkbezoek september 2006 (deel 3)
Het jongetje Aji met zijn ouders, en drie van de 8 broers/zussen. Het gehandicapt meisje Lelah staat ook op deze foto. Zij is een zus van Aji. Aji is aan een oog scheelziend. Ouders dachten dat hij blind was aan dat oog. Aji ging vorig jaar niet naar school. Wij hebben Aji door een oogarts laten onderzoeken. Die constateerde geen blindheid maar wel scheelziendheid. Aji kan alles zien, maar heeft een ander gezichtsveld. Eigenlijk zou Aji geopereerd moeten worden maar dat is een te kostbare operatie. Met ondersteuning van SYJ gaat Aji sinds vorig jaar naar de lagere school. Aji is geen hoogvlieger maar hij vindt het fijn om net als zijn leeftijdgenoten naar school te gaan.

His parents thought he was blind with one eye. He didn’t go to school last year. We have taken Aji to a doctor to examine his eye and concluded that he was not blind but cross-eyed. Aji can see everything, but he has got a different eye-field. He actually needs surgery but that’s a very expensive operation. With the support of SYJ he is going to primary school since last year. He is not an outstanding student but loves to go to school just like the other children of his age.
